 place for Women Owned and Economically Disadvantaged Women Owned Small Bus
 inesses (WOSB/EDWOSB) to sell to the government\, the federal government h
 as established a 5 percent goal. Why should women take advantage of this u
 nique opportunity\, and what do you need to do? \nIn FY20\, the government
  awarded 4.85% or $27 billion dollars in federal contracts to WOSB/EDWOSB.
  Women entrepreneurs left .15% of federal contracting opportunities on the
  table. \nTo take advantage of the benefits of being certified as a WOSB o
 r EDWOSB\, you must get certified. This workshop will help you know what t
 o do. \nMeet our SBA Instructor \nNancy N. Alvarez\, Lead Business Opportu
 nity Specialist with the SBA Dallas/Fort Worth District Office will facili
 tate the workshop and will be available to answer specific questions on th
 e certification eligibility and process. \nNancy serves as the Head of the
  8(a) Business Development Program for the U.S. Small Business Administrat
 ion\, Dallas/Fort Worth District Office. She is instrumental in providing
  leadership\, management and oversight to optimize the deployment of SBA’s
  Federal Contracting programs and serves the small business communities wi
 thin a 72-county geographical area in North Texas. As the SBA’s Women Owne
 rship Business Representative\, she is responsible for increasing particip
 ation of women owned small businesses in Federal Contracting Programs and
  advocates to local Federal agencies on behalf of Women Owned Small Busine
 sses (WOSBs). \nNancy graduated from Jacksonville University with a bachel
 or's degree in business administration (Magna Cum Laude). She is a member
  of Phi Beta Kappa Honor. She served on the Board of the City of Jacksonvi
 lle\, Mayor’s Hispanic American Advisory Board and the Mayor’s Small & Eme
 rging Business Advisory Council. Additionally\, she served as an advisory
  board member in the Beaver Street Enterprise Center\, Jacksonville’s firs
 t business incubator. Nancy is currently an advisory board member of the D
 allas/Fort Worth Federal Agency Small Business Advocacy Council (FASBAC)\,
  a small business professional’s forum where federal agencies share\, gath
 er\, and create ideas that promote small businesses’ interest and particip
 ation in the federal marketplace.
