 izards\, invisible spirits\, revolutions\, characters drinking until they’
 re dead drunk\, an angry monster. I figured that she hadn’t read it hersel
 f\, otherwise she would never have let me at it.” \nHolling is not referri
 ng to the Harry Potter series or Ann Rice novels but to the plays by Willi
 am Shakespeare. And while the Shakespearean plays\, the Viet Nam war\, and
  emotional struggles are a part of the multilayered subplots of the book\,
  empowerment and healing are the endearing themes in this novel.    \nA pr
 ofessor of English\, Schmidt also enjoys teaching writing courses in priso
