DESCRIPTION:Allen was founded by the Houston and Texas Central Railroad (H&
 TC) in 1874. \nCelebrations will be held on Saturday\, March 5 from 11:30
  to 2:30 p.m.\, at the Allen Heritage Center/Depot\, which is located at 1
 00 East Main. \nAt 11:30 pm\, historian Elden Baker will discuss the impor
 tance of the arrival of the railroad to this region. Mr. Baker is Director
  of Anna Depot & Museum.  \nAt 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. – Scavenger Hunt - “Searc
 hing for Allen’s History\,” visit 20 locations and obtain a page at each s
 ite that can be compiled into a book.  Registration for this event is on-l
 ine at “allenheritage.org”. Cost is $15 per car. \nLovejoy High School dra
 ma students will re-enact the famous Sam Bass robbery and shoot out at 2 p
 .m.   \nRing the Ebenezer Allen steam train bell\; and take your picture a
 s part of the Sam Bass gang. \nCome to the depot and bring the family to l
