DESCRIPTION:Celebrating the enchanting music of the Celtic tradition\, Fidd
 linda & Friends performs 7:30 p.m. Friday\, March 15\, at the Allen Public
  Library.  With a repertoire including ancient laments\, contemporary ball
 ads\, traditional Irish tunes\, Scottish Gaelic folksongs\, and a few foot
 -stomping jigs and reels\, this group promises a full evening of lively en
 tertainment. \nPlaying fiddle since the age 10\, Linda Relph has been part
  of the Texas Irish music scene after relocating from California in the ea
 rly 90s. Besides traditional Irish\, her background includes contest fiddl
 ing (she was the California State Ladies Champion four times)\, Celtic Roc
 k (founding member of The Killdares)\, greengrass (bluegrass-tinged Irish\
 , courtesy of her former band Nine-8ths Irish)\, and even country (playing
  with several George Strait Tribute bands.) She likes to call herself a "M
 ercenary Fiddler\," as she’ll play with just about anyone\, anywhere.  \nT
 oar Schell has been a mainstay of the Traditional Irish music community fo
 r over 25 years. Before that\, he describes himself as a semi-competent ba
 njo player. He plays mandolin\, fiddle and banjo. \nCandy Schell plays fid
 dle\, mandolin\, bodhran and button accordion. She is a regular at the loc
 al DFW sessions and is almost always at J. Gilligan’s sessions on Tuesday
  nights in Arlington\, TX. She is also a member of the TIMES Band & Sessio
 n Players. \nMatt Cook started his Irish Trad music journey many years ago
  around campfires\, singing the songs of days long past. As the years have
  gone by\, more instruments have been added\, and even more songs and tune
