 ice Department.  After his presentation\, citizens can submit questions\,
  express concerns\, and make suggestions. \nIn addition\, if any participa
 nt has a confidential issue\, the Chief can arrange a private meeting afte
 rward. \nThe Allen Police Department encompasses 145 sworn officers\, alon
 g with 65 civilian staff members that includes Dispatch and the Animal She
 lter.  Committed to community policing and emphasizing citizen engagement
  and collaboration to resolve neighborhood issues\, Chief Dye observes\, “
 I will honor existing traditions\, respect the great work already being do
 ne\, and listen and collaborate with all internal and external stakeholder
 s to understand the shared vision and priorities to further improve and in
 novate APD’s service to the community.” \nA lifelong Texan\, Chief Dye rec
 eived his Bachelor of Science degree from Sam Houston State University and
  his Master of Criminal Justice from Tarleton State University. He began h
 is police career with the Houston Police Department in 1984 and then serve
 d with the Arlington and Garland Police Departments. Following this\, he s
 erved as Police Chief in Colleyville before being selected as Chief of Pol
 ice for Grand Prairie. He subsequently served as a Deputy City Manager and
  later City Manager for Grand Prairie. \nFood For Thought Café will provid
