DESCRIPTION:Revisit the unforgettable events in Dallas\, November 1963\, on
  the 59th anniversary of President John F. Kennedy’s assassination and the
  murders of presumed assassin Lee Harvey Oswald and police officer J.D. Ti
 ppit.  Guest speaker John Slate\, Dallas City Archivist\, will present an
  illustrated lecture on the history and contents of the John F. Kennedy Co
 llection\, comprised of records from the Dallas Police Department\, in the
   Dallas Municipal Archives . Transferred to the archives in 1989\, the Ke
 nnedy collection contains more than 11\,400 documents and photographs\, in
 cluding homicide reports\, affidavits\, witness statements\, fingerprint c
 ards\, mug shots\, newspaper clippings and correspondence. \nThis event wi
 ll take place at 7:30 p.m.\, Thursday\, November 10\, at the Allen Public
  Library\, 300 N. Allen Dr.  This is a free event and will be web casted o

 chivist for the City of Dallas\, where he is responsible for historic city
  government records in the Dallas Municipal Archives.  A member of the Aca
 demy of Certified Archivists and served ten years on the  Texas Historical
  Records Advisory Board \, he possesses a B.S. from the University of Texa
 s at Austin and a Master’s Degree in Library and Information Science\, spe
 cializing in archival enterprise\, from the same institution. He’s written
  on photography\, music\, and Texas history and is the author or co-author
  of the following:  Historic Dallas Parks\, Lost Austin\, Dealey Plaza\,
   and  John F. Kennedy Sites in Dallas-Fort Worth . \nFor additional infor
