The Dallas Zoo will be on hand at Allen Event Center for kid's to get an up close view of some interesting and exotic animals. The Allen Americans announced today that the club will offer fantastic happy hour specials for their home games this Friday and Saturday, Jan. 16th & 17th at Allen Event Center.

The “All Game Happy Hour” includes 24oz “Tall Boys” of Miller Lite and Coors Light and 25oz “Tall Boys” of Bud Light for just $5 BUCKS (normally $9). In addition, "Well" Mixed Drinks will be reduced to only $5 dollars, normally $8. For the very thirsty fan who doesn't want to get up for a refill, the Americans will also include the Double "Well" Mixed Drink for just $10 dollars, normally $16.

In addition to the great drinks specials, your Americans will host another post-game autograph Friday. Stick around following the game Friday Jan. 16th for player autographs from 2-3 Americans Players on the Allen Event Center South Concourse. AMERICANS BEAT MISSOURI 4-3 IN OVERTIME

Allen, Texas -The Allen Americans won a thriller on Saturday night, 4-3 in overtime over the Missouri Mavericks, as Gary Steffes scored his league leading eighth power play goal of the season to lift Allen to victory for their 5th consecutive game win.

After falling down 2-0 in the first period, the Americans stormed back with three unanswered goals, Ian Schultz (13), Nolan Descoteaux (1) and Tyler Ludwig (9) all lit the lamp to put Allen up 3-2 after forty minutes of play.

The Mavericks tied the score in the third, when Josh Brittain fired one from the right wing boards that deflected into the net off an Americans player to even the score at 3-3. Both teams killed off power plays in the final period, sending the game to overtime.

Gary Steffes deflected one past Maxime Lagace 1:15 into the extra session for his 21st goal of the season, a power play goal to give Allen the win.

Steffes is now tied with Jack Combs for the team lead with 21 goals, one behind Tulsa’s Adam Pleskach (22).

The Americans and Mavericks play again tomorrow afternoon at 4:05 pm at Allen Event Center. Tickets can be purchased online at www.ticketmaster.com or call(972) 912-1000.

Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans swept a two-game weekend series with the Brampton Beast, to extend their season-long winning streak to five games and improved to 4-2-0-0 at Allen Event Center.

Friday, November 21st vs. Brampton, 9-2 Win

Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans erupted for nine goals on Friday night, a season single game high, in a 9-2 win over the Brampton Beast at Allen Event Center. Brampton jumped out to a 1-0 first period lead, however that would be their only lead of the game as the Americans would chase Brampton starter, Grant Rollheiser, after the first period with four unanswered goals and a 4-1 lead. Chad Costello had the hat trick for Allen, while Greger Hanson scored two times in the win. Allen goalie Riley Gill was outstanding in net, allowing just one goal in 40 minutes of work. Gill rested in the third period and the Americans cruised to a 9-2 win.   

Saturday, November 22nd vs. Brampton, 4-1 Win

Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans completed the weekend sweep of Brampton, led by forward Jack Combs, who scored twice for his team leading 8th and 9th goals of the season, while goalie Riley Gill stopped 27 of 28 shots as Allen won their fifth in a row. Austin Smith had a goal and an assist in the victory.

Matchup –The Allen Americans will play four games in five nights in four different cities, beginning on Tuesday night at the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Wednesday night it’s on to Missouri for their second game of the season against the Missouri Mavericks. The Americans won in Missouri 3-1 on November 14th. Allen returns to Tulsa on Thursday, as the Americans will play for the first time ever on Thanksgiving night against the Tulsa Oilers. The road trip ends for the Americans in Wichita, Kansas, on Saturday night in the third matchup of the year against the Wichita Thunder.
