Celebrate Allen’s railroad heritage on March 25, from 1 to 4 p.m., at the Allen Heritage Center/Depot, which is located at 100 East Main.
Inspect the model train exhibit, railroad telegraph demonstration, and enjoy the train crafts for kids.
Meet and greet President Teddy Roosevelt, the only sitting president to visit Allen.
At 2 p.m., Marita Richards will share Sam Bass stories.
At 3 p.m.-Sam Bass train robbery reenactment by Lovejoy High School drama students, the first successful train robbery in Texas.
Ring the Ebenezer Allen steam train bell; and take your picture as part of the Sam Bass gang.
“Ebenezer Allen-Statesman, Entrepreneur and Spy” author Allen Mesch will be available to discuss Ebenezer Allen and have books to sell and sign.
Come to the depot and bring the family to learn more about Allen’s train history.
