The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announces new leadership in the Allen area. The presidency now includes Dan Trythall of Lucas, who has accepted the position (or “calling”) formerly held by Michael Fisher of Lucas. Trythall joins Jay Jones of Fairview and Trent Thomas of Allen, who are currently serving as leaders over this area.

Congregations of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are organized geographically, and members attend worship services near their home. Each member belongs to a “ward,” or local congregation.  A group of 8-12 wards make up a “stake,” which is similar to a Catholic diocese. The aforementioned men are leaders of the Allen Texas Stake, and are collectively called the “Stake Presidency.”  In all, the Allen Texas Stake has approximately 4100 members.

Dan Trythall resides in Lucas with his wife, Amy, and their four children.  His career in the commercial roofing and waterproofing business led to the creation of a new business, DM Trythall & Company. He enjoys coaching his children in baseball and lacrosse, supporting school functions, and cooking with his smoker. He looks forward to his new role in the Allen Texas Stake Presidency.

Michael Fisher, a longtime resident of Allen who now lives in Lucas, has served extensively in both secular and church positions for more than 20 years. The LDS church uses lay clergy who donate their time, sometimes upwards of 25-30 hours per week, in their respective roles.  As part of his calling within the Stake Presidency, Fisher has been serving as a member of the Allen Ministerial Alliance, or AMA. Of his service, Fisher said, "I have seen how service to others changes our hearts and draws us closer to God, and I want to continue to feel that closeness."

Shep Bailey of Allen, a lifelong friend of Fisher, said, “We have been friends for more than 40 years. He has been an earnest and selfless disciple of our Savior since before we were old enough to know what that really even meant.  He has been unwavering in his commitment and devotion to God and his countless ‘neighbors’ ever since.”

Professionally, Fisher is involved with technology sales for NetApp.  He and his wife, Jenny, are the parents of four children, the youngest of which attends Lovejoy Middle School. He enjoys coaching his children in volleyball and basketball, house renovation projects, and water sports.  He looks forward to his new role as a Boy Scout leader in his local ward.
