The City of Allen has selected a new Chief of Police.  Following the retirement of Chief William Rushing, Brian E. Harvey will take over the position on Feb. 6.

Harvey has served as Deputy Chief of Police with the Dallas Police Department and has over 30 years of law enforcement experience in fields such as Homeland Security, Tactical Intelligence and Love Field Municipal Airport security.

In addition, Harvey has developed a public tip program via online and smart phone technologies and has participated in "the creation of special ordinances to reduce crime and improve safety for multi-tenant properties and convenience stores," according to a City of Allen press release.
