Speaker:   Beth Ray, a Collin County-Based Community Leader Who Specializes in Team and Individual Development.

A resident of McKinney, TX, Ms. Ray summarizes her topic: "We have very few options for control of our lives.  Circumstances, other people and daily unexpected developments throw our nicely planned lives into chaos, permanent change or are significantly altered.  We are asked to adjust or accept interruptions and go on.  How we choose to deal with 'life coming to the door' either produces frustration, anger, hopelessness or an ability to bounce back.  We can control very little, but we can choose every response, action and emotion to grow and learn."  Ms. Ray is currently employed at the Independent Bank in McKinney.  She has also been actively involved within the local community as a project coordinator, advocate and liaison for various organizations, including the McKinney Independent School District.  Ms. Ray is a certified Relationship & Marriage Coach and has been an active Court Appointed Special Advocate for the Texas State Family Court in Collin County.  She was also the keynote speaker at the 2009 International Women's Conference held in Mexico City, Mexico.
