Apparently there's a lot of North Texans that are eager to run off the weight they may have put on over the holidays.  The New Year's Double, which includes a Marathon, Half-Marathon and 5K is sold out and closed for registration, but that doesn't mean that you can't head to Allen and support the community members participating in the event.  

The New Year's Double will be held at Celebration Park in Allen on New Year's Eve and New Year's Day, Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.  The marathon and half-marathon will begin at 8:15 a.m. on both days and the 5K will begin at 8:25 a.m. on both days.

A special challenge finisher medal will be awarded to those really tough people that compete both days.

You can also show your support by volunteering on race days, as volunteers are still needed to carry out race day operations and ensure the events run smoothly.
