(Dallas, TX): The 77th Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant scheduled for June 30 through July 7 will be held in the Allen Event Center in Allen, Texas with the final crowning of Miss Texas 2012 on Saturday, July 7. Miss Texas 2011, Kendall Morris will crown Miss Texas 2012 at the Saturday night ceremony. 

"We at the Miss Texas Organization are excited that the City of Allen will host our competitions and look forward to this new partnership with a most welcoming community," said John Dodd, Miss Texas Organization chairman of the board. A press conference is scheduled for Thursday, March 15 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Allen Events Center to officially announce the move to Allen. "Hosting this pageant in Allen gives us the opportunity to continue to showcase why Allen, TX is a great destination," said Stephen Terrell, Mayor of Allen. 

Produced by the Miss Texas Organization, the Miss Texas competition exists for the purpose of providing personal and professional opportunities for young Texas women and promoting their voice in culture, politics and community. The competition was founded in 1936 by a group of civic-minded citizens concerned about higher education. The first Miss Texas Scholarship Pageant has evolved into what is recognized today as one of the best organized and well managed of all state pageants. The Allen Event Center is a city-owned, 7,500+ seat capacity multi-sport and entertainment arena located in one of the largest mixed-use developments in the state of Texas and one of the largest in the country, The Village at Allen. Judges arrive 

Wednesday, July 4

First Preliminary Competition begins at 7 p.m. 

Saturday, July 7

Final Competition begins at 7 p.m.

⋆Ticket prices start at $10 for the Miss Texas Outstanding Teen preliminary and go up to $400 for season tickets to all nights of the Miss Texas competition

⋆Individual day tickets will be good for access to both the Teen and Miss competitions.
