The Allen Public Library is hosting children's author Wendelin Van Draanen on Saturday, Feb. 25 at 10:30 a.m.  

Van Draanen is the winner of the 1999 Edgar Allan Poe Award for Best Juvenile for her book Sammy Keyes and the Hotel Thief, and has written a number of children's books including her four-book Shredderman series, Flipped, and the Sammy Keyes series.

Sponsored by ALLen Reads, the presentation is free and open to the public.  Books will be available for purchase at the event, and the author will be available for personal inscriptions.
