It’s not every day that a future President attends the Allen Kiwanis Club’s weekly meeting.  James “Jim” Rochford, President-Designate of Kiwanis International, will be in Allen, Texas on Thursday, September 7, 2017 attending the weekly lunch meeting held at Bonefish Grill located in the Village at Allen from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. (190 E Stacy Rd, Ste 100, Allen, TX 75002).

As President-Designate, Jim is spearheading an initiative to expand Kiwanis throughout the United States.  With tremendous population growth in North Texas, the local Kiwanis Growth Team has identified areas for expansion, such as Frisco, Wylie, Murphy and other communities within Collin County.  Jim’s visit to the Allen Kiwanis meeting is to share with the local membership how a team of Kiwanians called the "Tiger Team" travel the United States to start new Kiwanis clubs within a few days.

The Kiwanis Club of Allen is part of Kiwanis International, a global organization that provides volunteer service to support children in communities around the world.  “Kids need Kiwanis, in our community and in communities around the world,” said Don Ables, Allen Kiwanis Club President,  “Our club is excited to welcome Kiwanis International’s President-Elect to Allen to discuss expansion opportunities within the Collin County area.”

The Kiwanis Club of Allen meets every Thursday from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Bonefish Grill located in the Village at Allen (190 E Stacy Rd, Ste 100, Allen, TX 75002) Community members with an interest in helping children are encouraged to attend.
