Beginning with its weekly Wednesday morning meeting on August 10, the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry will present a new four-session Expert Speaker Series that explores ways in which participants can strengthen their individual career strategies. The DFW Metroplex-based speakers at these programs will address strategies for the overwhelmed job seeker, branding beyond resumes, job recruiter insights and how to become someone else's job referral.

Ms. Morse has worked in recruiting and placement throughout her entire career.  After earning a Bachelor's degree from Boston University in Massachusetts, Ms. Morse worked at Kelly Services, the nation's oldest staffing firm, as a recruiter for life science professionals.  After several promotions, she worked as a placement director in RPO (Recruitment Process Outsourcing) for State Street Bank and Trust.  In 2010, Ms. Morse moved to Texas to take a position as a corporate recruiter.  Now employed with Frontier Communications in Allen, TX, where she supports the customer contact service recruiting. Ms. Morse is also active in network building and community relations and outreach.

Ms. Walker, who has worked in recruitment and hiring for more than 20 years, launched her career in Human Resources before moving on to become a Certified Career Coach through the University of Texas at Dallas.  During her corporate career, Ms. Walker led a number of large scale recruitment and Workforce Planning initiatives.  In August 2015, Ms. Walker founded NextCareer, LLC as a company that is focused on transitioning the skills and competencies of the military into corporate careers.

 

The St. Jude Career Alliance is a ministry helping college students, career builders and those who are unemployed/underemployed to develop individual career strategies that meets at 9:00 AM every Wednesday at St. Jude Parish in Allen, TX.  These career strategy workshops are free of charge and open to all people of any faith, ethnicity, age, etc. Everyone is welcome.

 

St. Jude Catholic Church is located at 1515 North Greenville Avenue, between Exchange Parkway and Stacy Road.  Attendees should park in the northeast lot and use the entrance between the church and the parish offices.

 

In addition to speakers and presentations at weekly Wednesday morning meetings, the ministry offers training in job search skills, support groups and job hunting resources.
