National Charity League, Inc.’s Allen Chapter honored the Class of 2016 at its Senior Recognition on Saturday, March 26th at the Eisemann Center in Richardson.  Family and friends gathered to recognize the class’s years of service to Allen and the surrounding community.  The mothers and daughters of the class of 2016 have, in their years with the chapter, served over 2600 volunteer hours with local organizations including Allen Community Outreach, Allen ISD, Allen Arts Alliance, the Heard Museum, ManeGait, and Operation Homefront.

Live music for the event was provided by a string quartet, courtesy of the Allen Philharmonic.  The ceremony ended with a special waltz between the girls and their fathers, after which the families shared a celebration dinner.

Class Philanthropy Vice President, Isabella Panko, stated:  “It’s all too easy to take for granted all the blessings we have. Working together for our community has made us more aware of some of the struggles families face in our own neighborhoods, and brought us closer together as a class as we work together to provide assistance where we can. Helping others has actually helped to make us better citizens, and the friendships we’ve forged will last a lifetime.”

Lisa LeBlanc, who served as one of the class’s Grade Level Advisors, praised the girls by saying, “The girls of 2016 are ready to go out into the world and let their next adventure begin. Our NCL chapter played a part in preparing them for that adventure and they would like to thank all the present and past presidents, board members, liaisons and GLAds and most of all their Moms for helping them spread their wings and fly!”

The Allen Chapter congratulates these accomplished young ladies!  As they head off to college this year they carry NCL’s valuable lessons of community service, leadership development, and cultural experiences with them.  They are well-equipped to make the same positive impact on their new communities that they have made here in Allen.

National Charity League, Inc. was organized in 1925 in California and now includes more than 58,000 members in 216 chapters and 25 states.  The Allen Chapter was formed in 2011.  Membership in NCL is provides opportunities for mothers and their 7th- to 12th-grade daughters to strengthen their bond through philanthropic, leadership and cultural activities.
