The CHANT Chargers will be begin practicing soon for their fifth year of 6-man football. This season they will again field a high school team as well as a middle school team. With several starters back as well as being a year older, they are looking to build on the success they had last year.

Coach Mark Baker has led the teams the last three years and is eagerly looking forward to the coming season. This year they will have a new home field in Anna. That is an exciting development from last season when home games were played on a rec field in Allen.

The CHANT Chargers are a homeschool organization with most of their players drawn from the Plano, Allen, McKinney and Frisco area and points north. There are players from Melissa, Prosper and Celina as well. As homeschoolers, they do without the nice facilities that their opponents enjoy and have limited practice time. The love of the game is what has kept the players and the coaches going and this season looks to be the best yet.

In addition to 6 man football, CHANT also offers softball for girls and basketball for boys and girls of all ages, from 8-18.

The softball team took first place at the NACA tournament that was held at Bryan College in Dayton, Tenn. in May of this year. This was the second year they competed at that tournament.

The basketball teams are always looking for new players, both on the boys and girls side. Their season ends with a trip to the national tournament in Springfield, Mo.
