Trusted World Responds to communities need with the help of Atmos Energy

Garland, Texas (November 24, 2020) – Trusted World is responding to meet the needs of individuals and families facing situational poverty in North Texas with the help of Atmos Energy. 

Trusted World received a $50,000 donation from Atmos Energy to support its relief efforts. The donation will help Trusted World provide clothing, hygiene, and food to children, families, and senior citizens facing hardship.

Many North Texans are facing hardship during the pandemic, and the generosity of Atmos Energy will go a long way in supporting the relief efforts of Trusted World. Together, Trusted World and Atmos Energy will ensure people in North Texas need essential resources such as clothing, food, and hygiene items to receive help. 

The COVID-19 Pandemic has drastically increased the need for emergency food, clothing, and hygiene in North Texas. The economic impact on North Texas and the nonprofit community has drastically increased. Since March, Trusted World has delivered more than 158,026 lbs. of food to individuals and families in need. Trusted World relies on partners like Atmos Energy to help offset the increasing cost to provide these items to people in need. 

"Over the last seven months, we have provided resources to 5,381 people in need.  As time goes on and winter approaches, we know that number to increase substantially," said Michael Garrett, CEO/Founder of Trusted World. "We are so grateful to Atmos Energy for stepping up and helping us help people in North Texas; without the assistance of our donors, we would not be able to support our community this way."

“We are proud to partner with Trusted World and help eliminate food insecurity,” said Eva Hummel, Atmos Energy manager of public affairs. “Through our Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities program, we are focused on nourishing our children and families in need.  Atmos Energy is grateful for our local nonprofit partner whose commitment is to ensure children have access to healthy snacks, fresh produce and hearty balanced meals.”
