The United States Chamber of Commerce awarded the Allen Fairview Chamber of Commerce with 4-Star Accreditation for its sound policies, effective organizational procedures, and positive impact on the community.

 “Accreditation validates a chamber as having programs that benefit their local economy and for positively influencing action in their community,” said Raymond P. Towle, IOM, CAE, Vice President, Federation Relations and Institute for Organization Management.  “We applaud these organizations for advancing the principles of free enterprise.”

 Accreditation is the only national program that recognizes chambers for their effective organizational procedures and community involvement. In order to receive Accreditation, a chamber must meet minimum standards in their operations and programs, including areas of governance, government affairs, and technology. This extensive self-review can take 6-9 months to complete.

Thank you to our CEO, chamber staff and the Board of Directors from 2016 and 2017, for the hours of dedication in seeing this application process to the end. This was achieved with great passion and commitment from all involved. We believe that the time and effort spent by the board and staff has given us the opportunity to look at our overall programs and benefits that we have offered and to concentrate on new approaches. We look forward to 2018 and showcasing our 4-star accreditation honor proudly!

 It was a long and sometimes arduous journey, but with the hard work of our volunteer board and our professional staff, we not only completed the application and received this prestigious designation, we learned so much about our Chamber and where we can improve to better serve our members.  Needless to say, we are thrilled stated Chamber CEO Sharon Mayer

Local chambers are rated Accredited, 3-Stars, 4-Stars, or 5-Stars. State chambers are recognized as either Accredited State Chamber or Accredited State Chamber with Distinction. The final determination is made by the Accrediting Board, a committee of U.S. Chamber board members.
