The Allen Civic Ballet will hold its popular annual fundraising event "Tea with the Sugar Plum Fairy" on Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Allen Conservatory of Dance located at 602 E. Main St., Suite E, in Allen. 

Guests will be served tea, lemonade and treats while visiting with their favorite Nutcracker characters and enjoying story time with Mother Ginger. 

Seatings will be at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m. The cost is $15 per person.

Toward the end of the month, the Allen Civic Ballet will also present the annual holiday favorite "The Nutcracker" ballet on Saturday, Dec. 22 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, Dec. 23 at 2 p.m. at the Performing Arts Center at Allen High School located at 300 Rivercrest Drive. 

The cast includes local dancers and guest artists Paul and Katchiri Tillman of Ballet Arkansas. Musical accompaniment will be provided by the Allen Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra.
