Allen Retired Educators Association (AREA) recently presented Boyd Elementary students with 482 new books. Students in kindergarten through third grade received their own book to add to their personal library. Fourth through sixth grade students received books for their classroom libraries. 

The purchase of the books was made possible through a raffle supported by AREA members. In early December, 35 AREA members plated books in preparation for delivery in January. 

The children's Book Project is a service activity initiated by AREA of the Texas Retired Teachers Association (TRTA). AREA host their monthly meetings at Heritage Ranch Golf and Country Club in Fairview.
