Would you believe there Allen students who ‘happily’ wear holes in their shoes while running sprints and distances on the streets and trails of Allen, lift massive weights in an underground dungeon, drill wrestling moves until they can do them in their sleep, and then bring home the aroma of all that hard work in the form of sweaty, smelly workout clothes that have been stewing in their gym lockers for a week? And that’s just a small part of what our 8x State Champion Wrestling Team is doing in preparation for this year’s wrestling season!
As the team’s largest fundraiser, the Allen Wrestling Team is again selling hams for Thanksgiving. These 8-10 lb. bone-in, spiral-sliced, half hams are available in two selections: smoked ($45) or honey-sugared ($45). The premium quality hams will be smoked and sugared by the Wrestling Team, coaches, and volunteer parents at the Allen High School football stadium next week. They can be picked up right out of the smoker or fresh from the sugaring process at the HS Football stadium (155 Rivercrest Blvd) on Thursday, 11/16, 6-9pm; Friday, 11/17, 5-9pm; or Saturday, 11/18, 8am-12pm. Delivery arrangements can also be made.
This is a major fundraising event for the eight-time UIL State Champion Eagles and enables travel and related expenses to important regional and national competitions.
