Is your search for a new or improved job going nowhere?  Help is available for this challenging task of "job search" through the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry's Wednesday morning meetings June 7 to June 28, 9-10 AM at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, TX.  The new four-week Expert Speaker Series will provide up-to-date tips & tools for landing a career-building job.  For example, the June 7 presentation will demonstrate how the new version of Microsoft LinkedIn is easier to use and will show participants how to find, connect and develop relationships with key contacts & prospects.  The June 14 meeting will discuss five career management tips for 2017. The June 21 presentation will explore the impact of the life lessons on every aspect of our lives.  Finally, the June 28 meeting will help participants understand how to incorporate the above ideas into targeted job searches.

Topic:       The Less Painful NEW Microsoft LinkedIn

Speaker:   Terry Sullivan, Founder, Buzzpro.  Mr. Sullivan and his team at Buzzpro, a nationally-known integrated marketing and social media solution & training company, work with their clients to show them how to fill their sales funnel with better leads, schedule more appointments and close more sales using advanced social selling strategies.  Widely considered to be a LinkedIn guru, Mr. Sullivan has trained more than 6,200 business leaders, owners, and individuals seeking to improve their career possibilities across the U.S. on how to create their own unique online brand that gets results.

Topic:       Five Career Management Tips for 2017

Speaker:   Elizabeth Lions, President, Elizabeth Lions Consulting, LLC. The author of two books, Recession Proof Yourself and I Quit! Working for You Isn't Working for MeMs. Lions has designed and developed leadership and career courses, webinars and even a radio show titled Leadership Lessons from the Lioness.  Ms. Lions has been quoted in Yahoo, the Ladders, and the Dice job board. Her words have reached as far as the front page of the Philadelphia Tribune, PBS, CBS Money Watch, Dale Carnegie, and John Tesh's blog. Ms. Lions started her career as a headhunter on the west coast, working with leading companies such as Microsoft, Wells Fargo, EBay and Intel.

Speaker:   Steve Zipkoff, International Business Motivation & Leadership Expert.  Mr. Zipkoff is President/CEO of Richardson-based Zipkoff Solutions, a unique, innovative management education company founded in 1992 that utilizes a "no-box" thinking approach.  Zipkoff Solution's mission is simple: To inspire clients to discover, cultivate and capitalize on new capabilities for delighting customers and maximizing returns. During his more than 40 years in retail marketing, Mr. Zipkoff has included Sears, KFC, Burger King and Taco Bell (PepsiCo) among his clients.  Mr. Zipkoff is also an instructor at the SMU Cox Graduate School of Business where he earned the prestigious Teaching Excellence Award 31 times for his course on "Delivering Customer Delight."

Topic:       Targeted Job Search That Works 

Speaker:   Paula Calise, Principal, Linked Executive Research.  Ms. Calise's career is punctuated by rapid advancement at IBM and TXU.  Prior to launching her recruiting practice, she was a Sales and Marketing VP for a nationwide consulting company.  Today, Ms. Calise places mid and top leadership in Dallas' large and mid-cap companies.  She is know for her generosity of pay-it-forward networking and coaching.  A founding principle of Ms. Calise's recruiting practice is to be "candidate friendly," leading to untold hours each year providing pro bono career coaching.  Ms. Calise holds a degree in Human Resources from the University of Connecticut and an MBA from the University of Houston.

The St. Jude Career Alliance is a ministry helping college students, career builders and those who are unemployed/underemployed to develop individual career strategies that meets at 9:00 AM most every Wednesday at St. Jude Catholic Church in Allen, TX.  This Expert Speaker Series is free of charge and open to all people of any faith, ethnicity, age, etc.  Everyone is welcome and there is no charge. 

St. Jude Catholic Church is located at 1515 North Greenville Avenue, between Exchange Parkway and Stacy Road.  Attendees should park in the northeast lot and use the entrance between the church and the parish offices.

In addition to speakers and presentations at weekly Wednesday morning meetings, the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry offers training in job search skills, support groups and job hunting resources.
