Elizabeth Lions, Dallas-based executive recruiter, will conduct a leadership development seminar sponsored by the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry in Allen, TX on Saturday morning, April 25.  Ms. Lions' presentation will outline the steps required for facilitating the transition from individual contributor to leader.

"The transition from individual contributor to leader can be the most challenging and rewarding part of an employee's career," said Ms. Lions.  "However, there are some steps to take in order to ensure success as individuals grow into their leadership osition.  There is a vast difference between leading and managing people.  Managers are task focused while leaders determine the vision, goals and objectives needed while creating an environment which enables the team to grow and thrive."

In her April 25 presentation, Ms. Lions will address three key topics related to leadership development:

  • Moving from Individual Contributor to Leader
  • Leadership Foundations
  • Leadership Visionary Process

Ms. Lions is president of Elizabeth Lions Consulting, LLC.  Her client list includes leaders of Intel, eBay, Microsoft, Wells Fargo and Fiserv.  Ms. Lions also has her own radio show titled "Leadership Lessons from the Lioness" on Plaid for Women.  She is the author of two books:  (1) Recession-Proof Yourself (2009) and (2) I Quit, Why Working for You Isn't Working for Me (2012).

The April 25 St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry Saturday morning seminar will be held in the lecture hall from 9 to 11:30 AM at St. Jude Parish in Allen, TX.  This workshop is open to everyone and there is no charge.  Participants should bring a note pad and pen.

St. Jude Catholic Church is located at 1515 North Greenville Avenue, between Exchange Parkway and Stacy Road.  Attendees should park in the northeast lot and use the entrance closest to the three flag poles.

In addition to speakers and presentations at weekly Wednesday morning meetings and frequent Saturday morning seminars, the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry offers training in job search skills, support groups and job hunting resources.
