Jama Ball, Plano-based Strengths Finder Coach, will be the guest speaker at the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry's Wednesday morning meeting on December 6. A Gallup-certified Strengths Finder Coach, Ms. Ball is the Coaching Coordinator and an active Strengths Coach for the Living Your Strengths Ministry at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Plano, TX. She has conducted strengths coaching for both individuals and couples. She has also facilitated Strengths Finder-based resume writing, LinkedIn, and networking workshops for both corporate and not-for-profit teams. At the St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry meeting, Ms. Ball will facilitate a discussion on "Knowing & Sharing Your Talents." The December 6 meeting will be held 9:00-10:30 AM.
At present, Ms. Ball is serving as the Federation of State Medical Boards' senior director for the Federation Credentials Verification Service. Her team is charged with protecting the public by accurately verifying the medical credentials for physicians applying for licensure to various state medical boards. Prior to joining the Federation of State Medical Boards in June 2014, Ms. Ball worked for several major hotel chains, before transitioning to the non-profit sector. Ms. Ball's extensive professional experience includes consulting, hotel management, team management/development, operations leadership, project management, and data integrity & quality control.
Ms. Ball's volunteer experience includes serving as a board member for Journey of Hope Grief Support Center in Plano, TX, Co-Vice President of Philanthropy for the National Charity League Preston Bluebonnet Chapter, and as a current member and Past President of Soroptimist International of Dallas, TX. She received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Organizational Communication from California State University in Sacramento.
The St. Jude Career Alliance is a ministry helping college students, career builders and those who are unemployed/underemployed to develop individual career strategies that meets at 9:00 AM most every Wednesday at St. Jude Parish in Allen, TX.
St. Jude Catholic Church is located at 1515 North Greenville Avenue, between Exchange Parkway and Stacy Road. Attendees should park in the northeast lot and use the entrance between the church and the parish offices.
In addition to the expert speaker series, the ministry offers the career marketing workshop series and other career-oriented speakers and presentations at weekly Wednesday morning meetings as well as training in job search skills, support groups and job hunting resources.
Attendance at all St. Jude Career Alliance Ministry meetings is free of charge. These meetings are also open to all people of any faith, ethnicity, age, etc. Everyone is welcome!
