Church Offers "Ashes to Go" on Ash Wednesday

Allen, TX. -- No time to attend services marking the beginning of Lent? Church of the Savior will make it easy for morning commuters by offering "Ashes to Go" in its parking lot.

On March 1 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Father Michael Hurst will be available in the church's parking lot at 110 S. Alma Dr. in Allen to administer ashes to commuters who will not have to get out of their cars.

"'Ashes to Go' is about bringing spirit, belief and belonging out from behind church doors and into a place that people have easy access to," said Father Hurst. "Our first choice would be for people to attend one of the two services we offer on Ash Wednesday, but in today's rapid-pace world they can't always do that."

The church is offering Ashes to Go as a community service. It is located at the southwest corner of McDermott and Alma. The website is www.ofthesavior.org.  Tel. (972) 649-4032.
