Welcome the glory that is Christmas with a special presentation of John Rutter’s sacred musical experience, “Gloria,” performed by FUMC’s Chancel Choir, DARING Youth Choir, and orchestra with special guests Center Stage Brass and organist Maryann Visconti Feiffer.

You’ll have two opportunities to enjoy this special Advent worship service on Sunday, December 17, at 8:15am and 9:30am at First United Methodist Church of Allen.
The “Gloria” is a musical setting of parts of the Latin Gloria. Rutter composed this work in 1974 on commission and conducted the première in Omaha, Nebraska. The work was published in 1976 and has since been a Christmas tradition for both professional and lay choral organizations. Rutter structured the text in three movements and scored it for choir, brass, percussion and organ, with an alternative version for choir and orchestra.

This performance is directed by FUMC’s Minister of Music, Rev. Rusty King.
