With the overwhelming number of homeless children in Collin County (there are 2,289 homeless students reported in Allen, Plano, McKinney, Frisco and Wylie school districts), Allen-based business, QuickSitter and Allen realtor, Von Gipson of Merge Luxury Living Experts, are hosting a school supply drive between now and Aug. 13 to help children who need it most. All donations collected will benefit children served by The Family Promise of Collin County.

"It's disheartening to know that there will be thousands of homeless children right here in our community who will have a difficult start to the school year," said Von Gipson, owner of Merge Luxury Living. "With the number of challenges they face, we wanted to take some of the stress off of these students and their families by rallying the community to join us in giving back to our fellow neighbors."

The two companies have partnered with the Allen Public Library, Joe Farmer Recreation Center and Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium to collect school supply donations from the community. Residents in Allen and surrounding communities who would like to contribute to the school supply drive can drop off their donations at the following Allen locations:

Allen Public Library - 300 N. Allen Dr. Allen, TX 75013

Don Rodenbaugh Natatorium - 110 Rivercrest Blvd. Allen, TX 75002

Joe Farmer Recreation Center - 1201 E. Bethany Dr. Allen, TX 75002
