As you may know, today (Jan. 17) is Ditch Your New Year's Resolutions Day, the day that you take all of the resolutions you made and goals you've set for the year, and toss them out the window. That is, unless you've set resolutions that are actually attainable.

Below is a list of resolutions that every mother can appreciate. Turn this holiday into a day you ditch the ridiculous resolutions, like working out everyday of the week and learning the entire dictionary this month. Here are some goals that are actually worth keeping.

1. Stop obsessing about the mess - spend more time enjoying your family and less time stressing about your kids' rooms not being clean or the laundry not getting folded. You'll get to it eventually. Unfortunately, there are no awards given for world's cleanest house.

2. Stop comparing - in 2018, let's stop comparing our kids to other kids, and ourselves to other moms. Each child excells in different things and develops at different paces, and it's all okay. Some are good at sports, while other children are amazing at math, and some are whizzes at video games; that's a talent too. ?? Also, as moms, we need to stop comparing parenting styles. What works for your family may not work for others, and vice versa. And don't feel bad if you aren't a size 2, always dressed to the nines with perfect hair and manicured nails at all times. Those moms are aliens...LOL.

3. Let's get healthy - this has nothing to do with losing 20 lbs in the new year. We think it's just as important to be mentally healthy and happy, as it is to be physically healthy. Do more things that you like to do and that make you feel fulfilled and whole. Spend more time making sure you're happy, and your family will be happy too. Oh, and keep eating your vegetables.

4. Make more memories - time is precious, and as fast as the years seem to be going by, there's limited time to spend with your family. Take more family trips, play with your kids more and try to have more family dinners at the table instead of in front of the TV.

5. Make this the year you reconnect - make your relationships more of a priority this year. Date your husband more and remember how you used to be when you were dating. Catch up with your girlfriends you haven't seen since you had children, and take your parents out to lunch every once in awhile.

6. Make 2018 your best year yet - Let this be the year you accomplish all of your goals. Let's be the best moms, wives, business women and best selves we can be this year. And QuickSitter will be there to help you when you need us in 2018.
