As a part of the City of Allens celebration, Brad Billings will present a special talk exploring the life, legacy, and enduring influence of Benjamin Franklin at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 25 at the Allen Public Library.  Not simply a Founding Father, Franklin was a man of extraordinary curiosity and endless ambition whose influence stretched across politics, science, publishing, diplomacy, and civic life.  Franklin was a quintessential representative of the Enlightenment, often referred to as the Age of Reason.</p> <p>The lecture will highlight Franklins numerous pursuits and accomplishments, including his work as a printer and publisher, one of the keenest political minds of the Revolutionary era, a celebrated Freemason, and a man with an insatiable curiosity that drove his experiments, inventions and scientific discoveries.</p> <p>The presentation is intended to offer audiences a deeper understanding of the man behind the mythsone whose ideas about learning, citizenship, fraternity, and public virtue continue to resonate 250 years after the founding of the United States.</p> <p> Brad S. Allen Dr.</p> <p>Sons of the American Revolution, donning colonial attire, will open the program with a presentation of colors.
