Retired Lieutenant Colonel Keith Self will share experiences from his distinguished military career at 7:30 p.m. Friday, November 11, at the Allen Public Library. This former Collin County judge will be introduced by former VFW 2195 Post Commander Dave Cornette.
The Color Guard Unit of the Armistice Memorial Post 2195 of the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States of America will open the program with a presentation of the colors. In addition, the Allen Community Jazz Band will perform a medley of patriotic songs. During the program, veterans will be invited to stand when the theme song of their branch of service is played.

Keith Self is a 1975 graduate of the United States Military Academy at West Point. Serving as an Army officer for 25 years before retirement, he was later recalled to active duty in 2002 - 2003 for service in Afghanistan and Qatar where he participated in the Central Command on General Tommy Franks' staff planning for the invasion of Iraq.
