The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) will conduct a Public Hearing to present proposed improvements to an approximately 7-mile long section of United States (US) 75 from approximately 1,500 feet south of the Spring Creek Parkway interchange to approximately 500 feet south of the SH 121 interchange.

The purpose of the Public Hearing is to present the anticipated social, economic and environmental effects of the proposed project. The Hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at the City of Allen's Senior Center at 451 St. Mary Drive, Allen, TX 75002.

Prior to the Public Hearing, an Open House will be held from 6 to 7 p.m. to allow for questions and review of project exhibits. TxDOT staff will be available to answer questions during the Open House.

The formal Public Hearing presentation will begin at 7 p.m. and followed by a public comment period.

The project would provide additional capacity to the existing six-lane controlled access freeway by adding one additional lane in each direction. The project addresses traffic congestion along this section of US 75 and would be accomplished without the acquisition of additional right-of-way.

The proposed design also includes reversing some exit and entry ramps between Ridgeview Drive and Legacy Drive to reduce traffic congestion on the freeway, frontage roads and at existing interchanges.

Bicycle and pedestrian accommodations generally are not provided as part of the proposed project. However, between Stacy Road and Ridgeview Drive, the outside frontage road lanes would be constructed to a 14 feet width to accommodate bicyclists. The proposed design also includes improved pedestrian accommodations at the frontage road intersections with Bethany Drive and McDermott Drive.

The proposed project's environmental document and drawings showing the location and geometric design will be presented at the Public Hearing.

Project information will also be available for public inspection and duplication at the Dallas District Office located at 4777 East Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas 75150, the Collin County Area Office located at 2205 South SH 5, McKinney, Texas 75069 and on-line at www.keepitmovingdallas.com under Upcoming Public Hearing. Drawings of the alternative alignments will also be available for public inspection at the Town of Fairview, 372 Town Place, Fairview, Texas 75069; the City of Plano, 1520 Avenue K, Plano, Texas 75074; and the City of Allen, 305 Century Parkway, Allen, Texas 75013.

All interested citizens are invited to attend this Public Hearing. Persons requiring special communication or accommodation needs should contact the TxDOT Dallas District Public Information Officer at 214-320-6100 at least two (2) working days prior to the Public Meeting.

Because the Public Hearing will be conducted in English, any request for language interpreters or other special communication needs should also be made at least two (2) working days prior to the Public Hearing. Every reasonable effort to accommodate these needs will be made.

Written and verbal comments regarding the proposed project may be presented at the Public Hearing. Written comments submitted after the Public Hearing must be hand-delivered or postmarked on or before Friday, March 29, 2013. Written comments can be submitted to Robert Hall, P.W.S., CFM, TxDOT Dallas District Environmental Coordinator, 4777 East Highway 80, Mesquite, Texas 75150.
