Allen, TX – 06/05/2024 – The Allen Public Library is excited to announce a major expansion and renovation project that will provide more space for books, programs, and community events. Construction is expected to begin this summer with an anticipated completion date of summer 2025.

Early Start for Exterior Work
To save time and minimize disruption to library services, exterior construction will begin in June 2024. The library facility will remain open to the public through July 31st, with minimal impact on operations.
Temporary Location During Construction
The library will close entirely for construction and renovation on August 1st, 2024. However, library patrons can rest assured that access to materials and services will continue. The library will operate from a temporary location at 800 East Main St. until construction is complete.
Important Information for Patrons During Closure
- No materials will be accepted during the closure period (from August 1st).
- Existing loans will be automatically extended, and no overdue fines will be incurred during this time.
- Book returns will be unavailable. Please hold onto all library materials until the temporary location opens.
The Allen Public Library looks forward to welcoming the community back to a bigger and better library space in summer 2025.
