We are a small family farm in Pittsburg, Texas, specializing in seasonal, organically grown produce. In addition to supplying restaurants in the Dallas area, we sell our food to the public through our CSA.

Comeback Creek Farm was started by John Kilburn in 2005 in Pittsburg, Texas — about two hours east of Dallas, naturally growing fruits and vegetables. We still plant every seed, pick every weed, and tend to every plant with our own hands. Our land comprises twenty-five acres, fifteen of which we commit to farming. The remaining land is covered by stands of native timber and a creek that gave us inspiration for the name of our farm — Comeback Creek. John began with a single table at the Dallas Farmers’ Market, but has become fortunate enough to establish relationships with many people who continue to enthusiastically support our organic approach to farming. We farm using only low impact, sustainable methods: no synthetic pesticides or herbicides and no harmful chemical fertilizers. Additionally, we do not use genetically modified seed. These ecologically sound practices are safe for us as growers, for you as consumers, and for the land around us.

Community support and a growing interest in the benefits of eating fresh, locally grown foods have given us the opportunity to slowly expand the volume and variety of what we grow. We frequently experiment with different, often heirloom, varieties of our established crops to determine what will thrive in our soil and withstand the finicky east Texas weather, while expanding the variety of what we plant each season.

We are always a work in progress, and thanks to the support of our members we are able to continue investing in the work we love to do: organically and sustainably growing delicious, healthy, seasonal produce.
