Fans of the Drop Top Rockets, Texas’s most famous Rockabilly band, are treated to the exciting rhythms of the 1950s. The band will be performing at a free concert at 7:30 p.m. Friday. August 11, at the Allen Public Library.

Known for both their unique musical vibe and an ability to entertain crowds with witty storytelling and banter, they have performed at the Lone Star Roundup in Austin, Sons of Hermann Hall, Adair’s, Trees, Double Wide and more.  Their concerts offer tributes to the likes of Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins, Buddy Holly and more.

The band comprises Scotty Hughes on lead guitar and vocals, Johnny Upton on rhythm guitar and vocals, Adam Rosneck on drums and Shane Kiel on upright bass.  KNON’s Randal Cowhide Cole will make a guest appearance.

Can’t be there in person? The program will also be streamed live on ACTV. Find viewing options at Watch ACTV or view online at  ACTV.org or YouTube.com/AllenCityTV
