Allen ISD will conduct a School Board Academy for citizens interested in running for an elected position on the Allen ISD School Board of Trustees (currently Place 4 and Place 5). The academy will be held at the Allen ISD Administration Building, 612 E. Bethany Dr., from 9 – 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013.

The program, conducted by current board members and Allen ISD school administration, is designed to familiarize potential candidates with the basic operation of the school district, the role of school board members, and the election process.

The program is offered at no charge to all Allen residents who are eligible to run for a place on the school board. Participants must register in advance by emailing sandi_osborn@allenisd.org or calling Sandi Osborn at 972-727-7115 prior to Thursday, Feb. 21, 2013.
