New York Times Bestseller Chris Enss at Library-Saddle up to join courageous women of the American west as they mount the wildest broncos, get hurled to the ground, and mount again. New York Times bestselling author Chris Enss will discuss Along Came a Cowgirl at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 22, at the Allen Public Library.

In her newest award-winning book Chris Enss introduces readers to the world of the early rodeo – and to the stories of the women whose names resounded in rodeo arenas across the nation in the early twentieth century. The author describes the hugely popular first ever all cowgirl rodeo that was held in Bonham, Texas, an event that undoubtedly inspired women to excel in non-traditional roles.

Enss is the current president of Western Writers of America, co-chair of the Historical Commission in Nevada County, California, and is a licensed private investigator.  Enss has been writing about women of the Old West for more than twenty years.  She has penned more than forty published books on the subject.  Her work has been honored with five Will Rogers Medallion Awards, two Elmer Kelton Book Awards, and two Western Writers of America Spur Finalist awards. Along Came a Cowgirl is a Will Rogers Medallion Award Finalist.
