Science fiction writers Patrick and Blake Seaman, the father and son authors of the Accipiter War Pentalogy, will speak at the Allen Public Library at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, June 20. The Accipiter War Pentalogy tells the story of a current-day Texas city and adjacent military base, that are abducted—scooped up whole—and deposited inside a 4,000-mile-long McKendree Cylinder by parties unknown. The series is a character-driven military science fiction/space opera story that follows our heroes as they explore and discover what and why this has happened as they encounter and engage threats both inside the McKendree Cylinder – and beyond. The books feature cover art by Hugo Award-winning artist and author Ron Miller.

In 1995, Patrick Seaman helped Mark Cuban launch what later became AudioNet/broadcast.com, which was then acquired by Yahoo for $5.4B. He was the publisher of the first audiobook on the Internet and serialized it as the first known podcast. He also co-wrote the first book on Internet broadcasting. After broadcast.com, Patrick continued to push content boundaries with Timberwolf Press, which published the first known MP3CD/eBooks and popularized digital downloads of eBooks and episodic audiobooks.

Can’t be there in person? The program will be streamed live on ACTV. Find viewing options at Watch ACTV or view online at  ACTV.org or YouTube.com/AllenCityTV.
